Warranties
All ThinOptics products are warranted to the original purchaser against manufacturer's defects. Warranty duration varies by product type and is outlined below. All warranty claims are subject to the shared terms, exclusions, and limitations at the bottom of this page.
Reading Glasses
30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
If you're not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you may request a refund or an exchange within 30 days from the date of purchase. The exchange must be of equal value to the original purchase.
6-Month Limited Warranty
All reading glasses purchased on the ThinOptics website, Amazon, and authorized retailers are warranted to the original purchaser against manufacturer's defects for 6 months from the date of purchase.
This is a defect warranty only — we will only refund/exchange after 30 days due to manufacturer defects or defects caused by normal wear and tear.
Sunglasses
30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
If you're not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you may request an exchange within 30 days from the date of purchase. ThinOptics and SHADO Eyewear will strive to find the best solution for you. The exchange must be of equal value to the original purchase.
2-Year Limited Warranty
ThinOptics Sunglasses are warranted against manufacturer's defects for two years from the date of purchase. Manufacturer defects include non-functional hinges, mounts, and missing pieces.
Prescription EyeGlasses
30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
If you're not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you may request a refund or an exchange within 30 days from the date of receipt. The exchange must be of equal or lesser value to the original purchase. All returns must be in original condition and packaging. Please include your name, email address, order number, and the reason for your return with the returned item. Once received and confirmed, you will be provided with a return receipt for your insurance needs.
Prescription Lenses — 30-Day Coverage
We understand that it takes time to become accustomed to new prescription lenses. ThinOptics covers all prescription lenses for up to 30 days from the day of receipt.
Please note: Progressive lenses often take time to become comfortable with. Please reach out to our team or to your eye doctor if you have any questions or concerns. We will do our best to help you become familiar with the best ways to enjoy your new glasses.
If you have a specific strength you would like to use for your intermediate vision field, please contact our customer service team.
Eligibility Criteria for Replacement/Refund/Exchange
By using a product from ThinOptics, you agree to the guaranteed terms. The warranty does NOT cover expired prescriptions, improper use, scratched lenses, normal wear and tear, damage from pets or negligence, lost or stolen glasses, lost screws, accidental damage, altered products, or replacement products. The warranty only applies to the original purchase and requires proof of purchase. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. ThinOptics reserves the right to approve or deny claims and offer account reviews for denied replacements.
30-Day Limited Warranty
Prescription EyeGlasses come with a 30-day warranty against manufacturer's defects. Refunds can only be claimed and filed within 30 days from the purchase date.
Shared Warranty Terms
ThinOptics' obligations for the product purchased by the end-user ("You") are limited to the terms set forth below.
BY USING A PRODUCT MANUFACTURED BY OR FOR THINOPTICS (A "PRODUCT") YOU ARE AGREEING TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THE THINOPTICS GUARANTEE ("GUARANTEE") AS SET OUT BELOW.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THE GUARANTEE, DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT AND RETURN IT TO US UNOPENED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF PURCHASE FOR A REFUND.
What Is Not Covered
ThinOptics warranty does not cover:
- Improper or unreasonable use
- Scratched lenses
- Damage from normal wear and tear (including scratches on lenses, bent frames, and other issues that may arise from the insertion of glasses into the case repeatedly)
- Damage from pets, vehicles, and/or general negligence
- Lost or stolen glasses
- Lost screws
- Accidental damage
- Altered products
- Expired prescriptions (Prescription EyeGlasses)
- Replacement products — warranty is valid on original purchase only
Exchange / Refund Process
To request an exchange or refund:

- Refunds will be issued for the cost of the product.
- Shipping fees are non-refundable (some exceptions apply).
- Customers will be allowed one exchange of equal or lesser value per purchase.
- Replacement products/orders are not covered under warranty.
- Provide a reason for exchange.
- Requests due to breakage/defects will be validated via photograph/video.
- Return to be validated prior to refund/exchange.
- Returns requested due to preference will be at the customer's expense.
- Shipping and handling charges may apply, except where applicable by law.
Proof of purchase from the original manufacturer or authorized retailer is required.
Customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping if the return is at their request. Please package all products carefully to avoid any further damage. ThinOptics will not be held responsible for damage caused by improper shipping or non-receipt.
We reserve the right to approve/deny claims. You may request a review of your account if you feel you have been denied replacements incorrectly. Requests for account review can be submitted to: support@thinoptics.com
Please note that by providing your email address, you are agreeing to receive future communications from ThinOptics that may include sale advertisements.
Exclusions and Limitations
Except as expressly set forth in this Guarantee, ThinOptics, in so far as permitted by law, provides their products "as is". ThinOptics is not responsible for damage arising from failure to follow instructions relating to use of the product.
This Guarantee does not apply: (a) to damage caused by use with another product; (b) to altered products.
This guarantee gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. ThinOptics' responsibility for defects is limited to replacement service as determined by ThinOptics in its sole discretion.
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THIS GUARANTEE AND THE REMEDIES SET FORTH HEREIN ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED CONDITIONS, REPRESENTATIONS, OR WARRANTIES. THINOPTICS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY STATUTORY OR IMPLIED GUARANTEE OR CONDITION, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, NON-INTERFERENCE, OR ACCURACY, OR ARISING FROM A COURSE OF DEALING OR TRADE PRACTICE, TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
To the extent an implied guarantee cannot be excluded, such guarantee is limited in duration to the period set forth above. No warranties, whether express or implied, will apply after the expiration of the applicable guarantee period. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied guarantee lasts, so this limitation may not apply to you. No ThinOptics dealer, distributor, reseller, agent, or employee is authorized to make any modification, extension, or addition to this guarantee.
THINOPTICS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OF GUARANTEE OR CONDITION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, OR COMMERCIAL LOSS EVEN IF THINOPTICS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
ThinOptics may restrict service to the fifty states of the United States of America and the District of Columbia.
ThinOptics reserves the right to refuse service to any customer that is using abusive language or actions toward any ThinOptics employee.
In accordance with applicable law, ThinOptics may require that you furnish proof of purchase details and/or comply with registration requirements before receiving guarantee service.
Note that in the European Union, any guarantee period less than two years shall be increased to two years.
